We recently read about a couple from Connecticut who loves ice-cream so much that at their summer wedding they choose to forgo the tradtional wedding cake and instead served an ice-cream cake. This couple treated their guests to an additional surprise by having a local ice-cream man come to their wedding in a vintage wedding themed ice-cream truck. The ice-cream vendor parked his truck next to the couples out door wedding tent and doled out ice-cream treats to all the wedding guests. The guests were delighted with this surprise. What a great idea!
We wondered-could we pull off the same idea n the Chicagoland area, even for a winter wedding ? Our answer is yes- we know we couldn’t have an ice-cream truck pull into a wedding hall, but we could have local ice-cream vendors come in the room with decorated vintage ice cream carts to scoop out ice cream sundae’s for our guests. We even found local ice cream parlors and vendors like Oberweiss Dairy that will delivery ice-cream treats directly to your wedding reception.
